The hideout of Abubakar Shekau,leader of Boko Haram,has allegedly been discovered.
Making the revelations in his Twitter handle@ottotgs, a counter-terrorisn expert, David Otto said the alleged location where Shekau conducts Jihadist operations,deep in the Ssmbisa forest was given as”Sabil-Huda”though sources said that the place is known within the Jihadist circle as”Farisu”
it was learnt that the insurgents led by Shekau usually converge on the”‘ Farisu camp to observe Friday Jummat prayers between 12:30p and 100pm local time.
Other nearby active camps in ‘Farisu’ which host thousands of Jihadist fighters, abducted women and children include Garin kago,Garin Maluma,,Daurul Tauhid and Tokombare..
It was alsolearnt that many of the active Boko Haram camps in’ Farisu ‘have been bombarded by the Nigerian Army artillery and Nigerian Airforce bombs several times but because of the strategic position, the insurgents always find a safe heaven in”Farisu’ to conduct their affairs.
Shekau is said to command and control about 25 Boko Haram Jihadist camps headed by unit commanders which each camp containing approximately 1000 fighters., however the number is said to be significantly reduced by constant air strikes from the combined Armed Forces under the auspices of Operation LaFIYA DOLE,and the Multi-National Joint Task Force.
It was gathered that the permanent hiding place of Shekau is a fortified location within the thick forest of Firgi after a previous hideout was overrun in December 2016 and March 2020
The Boko Haram leader is reportedly protected by 10 special fighters and has in his custody about 40 Toyota Hilux vehicles mounted with Anti-Aircraft guns,2 armoured tanks and 2 APC”s all in a location which provides camouflage from attack
He is believed to sleep in a dungeon of refurbished natural tunnels with mines planted at unsuspecting locations and is accessible only by foot.
Boko Haram insurgents have inflicted pain,misery on the North East, and other parts of the country It has displaced millions of people and killed thousands of within ten years of its existence.
The Nigerian Military was recently given a marching order by President Buhari to intensify their actions against the Boko Haram and other insurgents with a view to bringing about an end to insurgency in the country.
