The Nigerian Drug Law Enforcement Agency ( NDLEA) has intercepted 101 parcels of Cocaine concealed in eight children duvets at the Murtala Muhammed International Airport, Ikeja, Lagos.
In a statement on Sunday, NDLEA’S Director of Media and Advocacy,Femi Babafemi said the illicit drug was trafficked into the country by a 52- year- old man,Akudinwa Hilary Uchenna, native of Oru East Local Government Area of Imo State who returned from Brazil.
Uchenna was arrested on Saturday at the D- Arrival Hall of the Lagos airport upon his return from Sao Paulo, Brazil via Doha, aboard a Qater Airways flight, while the parcels of cocaine weighing 13.2 kg was received from the only check- in bag.
The NDLEA also intercepted big pallets of skunk concealed in detergents at the Akanu Ibiam International Airport, Enugu.
The consignment weighing 730 grams was brought into the country by a 37- year- old indigene of iAnambra State and South African returnee, Ezekwesili aboard Ethiopian Airline flight from Johannesburg, South Africa via Addis Ababa, Ethiopia.
Similarly, operatives of the NDLEA arrested a 24- year- old drug dealer,Christian John at Egbeta,Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State for selling assorted illicit drugs, which include sachets of drugged Milo beverage, cannabis sativa,swinol and Tramadol tablets
In a related development,a 30- year- old man, Chibuzor Uba was arrested on Friday with 1,955 ampules of pentazocine at Kaura Namoda, Zamfara State
