A staff of the NNPC Yemi Awolola has been arrested for sexually abusing her 14year old house help and burning her private part with a lighter.
Awolola was said to have got custody of the house help from the girl’s parents at an Internally Displaced Persons Camp in Kajuri local government area of Kaduna State a year and 3 months ago.
It was learnt that the parents of the girl gave their daughter out on the
condition that Awolola would take care of her education,but that was not the case as the woman and her relations allegedly tortured the girl to the extent of inserting lighter in her private part and burning it in the process.
In her response, Kaduna State Commissioner of Human Services and Social Development,Hafsat Baba said that the victim was made to sleep in the toilet and sometimes drink water from the toilet
Hafsat said that the girl is currently receiving treatment at a private health center at the moment
She disclosed that the Suspect has been sanctioned on three counts charge of child labour, violence against children as well as sexual violence.
Hafsat said that the victim is in police custody and urged them to ensure that she is prosecuted adding that she would inform the NNPC of the incident involving their staff.
