The remains of Late Gospel Music singer, Osinachi Nwachukwu have been laid to rest in her home town , Isochi Umumneochi in Abia State.
Osinachi died on April 18 ,2022 in Abuja as a result of complications from alleged domestic abuse.
Her husband and manager,Peter Nwachukwu was said to have serially abused the late singer and appropriated her properties while secretly keeping an unnamed woman as wife .
Osinachi’s death sparkled public outcry from religious circles, the Entertainment industry, her family,state and the Federal government levels which led to the arrest and prosecution of he husband Nwachukwu
Nwachukwu is standing trial for allegedly beating his wife to death.
He claimed that the singer died of throat cancer but her family reasoned otherwise and requested that autopsy be carried out. The Police in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja commissioned the National Hospital Abuja for the examination. It thereafter forwarded the report to the Director, Public Prosecution( DPP) in the Attorney General ‘s office for possible action.
The late singer popularly known for her gospel rendition” Ekwueme” is survived by four children.
