Members of a Civil Rights Action Against Corruption, CRAAC, in Nigeria have condemned in its entirety the recent outburst and an act of calumny and blackmail against the Executive Secretary, Nigerian Christian Pligrim Commission, Rev Yakubu Pam, by the former Coordinator of the Group, Mr John Olukayode.
Acting Coordinator, CRAAC, Comrade Paul Katuka, stated the group’s position to newsmen after a meeting with members in Abuja, Nigeria’s capital.
According to Comrade Katuka, the claim made against Reverend Pam by the group’s former Coordinator, was unsubstantiated, puerile and infantile.
“With reference to the recent misleading story published in the Vanguard newspapers titled “Same faith ticket: Anti graft body asks Pam to resign as Christian Pilgrims’ boss”, CRAAC Members further described the publication as misleading, treacherous and devil inspired campaign from a supposedly leader of a civil society group and one that is ideally, a straight forward person!
The acting CRAAC Coordinator, therefore wish to commend and identify with well meaning groups and patriotic individuals that have been condemning the campaign of calumny and distraction against Rev Pam by the former Coordinator.
“We are equally of the view after the special meeting on Saturday, November 5, 2022, concluded that the statement credited to our former Coordinator is not only lacking in evidence but also an outlandish falsehood devoid of all truth.
Speaking further, CRAAC Acting Coordinator noted that the former coordinator was invited to the meeting and was given ample opportunity to defend his wild allegation and misplaced aggression against Rev Pam but failed to show up.
According to him, Members during their meeting resolved to tender unreserved apology to Rev Pam for the campaign of calumny and distraction by the erstwhile coordinator of the group.
The Acting Coordinator noted that the Campaign of Calumny against Rev Pam, was intended to de-market the remarkable progress the Commission has achieved under his leadership.
