The Leadership of the House of Representatives Members Wives Association ( HORMWA) South South chapter on Monday paid a visit to Mrs Gimba Dogara, wife of the Former Speaker of the House of Representatives at her residence in Abuja.
Dogara founded HORMA and played a significant role in advancing the direction of women towards contributing to the wellbeing of their families. This, she did through training programmes for members , fellowship with women and support for members of the association going through trying periods.
Mrs Dogara also operated an open door and inclusive system where she extended a hand of fellowship to wives of serving and former members.
The South South delegation led by Mrs Blessing Mutu accompanied by other members;,Mrs Patricia Mpigi,Mrs Stella Esu and, Mrs Maureen Umana told Dogara that they were in her residence to thank her for her excellent leadership and her relentless efforts towards the success of the organisation.
According to the group, her show of love, support for members won the hearts of members of the South South which is why they had paid her the visit to show her their love and affection.
Speaking during the visit,Mrs Esu and Mrs Mpigi lauded her exemplary leadership and thanked her for her choice of Mrs Mutu to lead the South South zone.
They said her leadership style has rubbed off on Mrs Mutu adding that her respect for the South South zone, particularly her quick response to invitations by the zone despite her busy schedules and her level of leadership and attainments, further projects her as a good leader and a friend of the zone.
In her response,Dogara thanked the women for the visit saying she is awed by their act of benevolence and urged them to keep the organisation going.
Meanwhile, HORMWA South South organised her End of Year activities with sporting activities ( Aerobic session) talks on Health and a visit to Priesthood Orphanage home in Abuja on Saturday.
Sunday which was the climax featured a meeting hosted by members from Bayelsa and Delta States and presentation of gifts to the leader of the zone,Mrs Mutu for her exemplary leadership.
Members recalled that while other zones have stopped functioning, the South South zone is growing very strong,a feat they attributed to Mutu’s organisational ability, prayers and sense of oneness and responsibility.
Mutu thanked the women for their show of love ” I cannot wish for a better family.Iam most committed to you.” She said.
