Governor of Anambra state,Chukwuma Soludo says the peace and security of the South East requires a joint effort by all stakeholders including, Nnamdi Kanu the detained leader of the Indigenous people of Biafra( IPOB)
Soludo who made this known at the Flag off of the All Progressives Grand Alliance ( APGA) campaigns in Awka, the Anambra state capital on Saturday said his government has set up a committee to look into the root causes of the problem of insecurity with a view of nipping it in the bud.
He said a critical stakeholder whose presence is needed in the conversation designed to launch a new wave of securing the zone is Nnamdi Kanu
The governor appealed to the Federal Government to release Kanu and promised that he ( Soludo) would stand as surety to the IPOB leader and would present him whenever he is needed.
” I now want to appeal,plead and request and demand of the Federal Government and our able President led by Buhari that a critical person required around that conversation to be complete for us to have an all round approach to dealing with the issue of insecurity and discussing about the future of the South East, that person and we need him urgently around the table. Please bring him to us and that is Nnamdi Kanu. Im calling on the Federal Government to please release Nnamdi Kanu.
” We are calling on him to release Nnamdi Kanu,we need him around the table because we believe that we now want to have a comprehensive heart to heart conversation about the future of the South East, about the future prosperity of the South East,no one should be left behind, everybody should be there. If we can not release him unconditionally as requested by the court judgement and so on.
” I now offer to be the surety. Release him to me I will keep him.Release him to me and I will keep him,I will provide him shelter and anytime that you need him,we will bring him to you.Give him to me we will house him here in Awka.Let us bring this insecurity in the South East to an end. That’s why APGA believes in one Nigeria.APGAbelieves in the security and prosperity of Nigeria”
