The wife of the Presidential Candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC) ,Mrs Oluremi Tinubu has said that where there is genuine love, religion should not be a consideration.
Tinubu who addressed a rally of the Tinubu/ Shettima Women Presidential Campaign Council in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Tuesday in apparent reference to same faith ticket said that her husband, who is Moslem,saw her through her training at the Bible college to become a deacon and had never interfered with the practice of her faith.
Mrs Tinubu who also doubles as serving Senator of the Federal Republic of Nigeria disclosed that her passion for inclusiveness of various ethnic groups in government while her husband held sway as governor of Lagos State has not waned and said that, as believers of one Nigeria where everyone is important, the administration of Bola Tinubu would give ethnic groups, women and Youths their pride of place.
IMeanwhile,lmo State Governor, Senator Hope Uzodinma has urged the people of the South East geopolitical zone to stand and take a decision now concerning the wellbeing of the region.
Speaking at the South East Tinubu/ Shettima Women Presidential Campaign Council in Owerri, the Imo State capital on Tuesday, Uzodinma recalled that” there was once Nigeria was almost moving without the South East” because the people in the zone failed to make informed choices of being part of the center.
The governor said that after careful study of the constitution, he realized that the people of the zone with only 5 states are unable to have the plurality of votes and the required 25% in 24 out of the 36 states across the country.
He said he would continue to preach to his people to shine their eye as any wrong decision they take may mar their chances.
The governor said ” a united Nigeria will accommodate the population of the South East. We have experienced abandoned property after the civil war ” and it would be wrong to go through same path as Igbos who are businessman and women have properties scattered around the country.
He added ” We have decided to be part and parcel of Nigeria saying that the All Progressives Congress APC which controls 22 states is the party to vote.
In her remark, the wife of the Imo State Governor,Mrs Chioma Uzodinma said the APC presidential candidate,Bola Tinubu is the man to vote as hie would offer more prosperous achievements to the people of Nigeria given his track record in Lagos.
Mrs Uzodinma said that the aim of the South East Tinubu Shettima Women Presidential Campaign Council rally was to market the achievements of the former Lagos state governor for the February 25,2023 presidential election.
She said that the APC has proven to be very accomodative for women adding that Asiwaju has assured to increase women participation in his administration.
Uzodinma who described Women as the life wire of any election given the demographic representation said ” We are going to sweep it clean from the top to bottom and urged them to rally their fellow women on PVC’s collection and vote for the APC.
