Rivers State Government has sued Tonye Cole, the gubernatorial candidate of the All Progressives Congress APC in the state along with his predecessor,Rotimi Amaechi over alleged sale of government properties
Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike announced this during the flag off of the consolidation team campaign at Eberi, the Omuma Local Government Area Headquarters on Monday.
Wike also announced the award of contract for Eberi and Umuakali road which he said must be completed and urged the people of Omuma to reciprocate the kind gesture of his administration to use their PVCS to vote for Simiialayi Fubara popularly called Sim, who will continue from where he stopped adding that Sim and his deputy,Prof. Ngozi Ordu who are both Technocrats and experienced in the act of governance would ensure the protection and well being of the state.
The Rivers Governor extolled the leadership qualities of Kelechi Nwogu,a serving member of the House of Assembly and and candidate for Etche/ Omuma Federal Constituency saying he ( Nwogu) whom he described as worthy ally,had brought development to the local government through his constituency and state projects and said that he had no doubt that he would some day be on the saddle of leadership in the state.
Governor Wike called on those who are yet to collect their PVCS to do so immediately saying that PVC is the power of the people.
” Our power is PVC. Our power,we will use it well on 25 February and 11 March”.
Addressing the party faithful, Sim said the campaign theme was carefully chosen to demonstrate protection of the foundation of the Governor Wike government and ensure continuity.
Sim, while acknowledging the good governance in the area in terms of security and infrastructure, commended Mr Nwogu for achieving presence of government in the LGA, and declared that when elected, his government would” focus on manpower development to further enable the growth of the area.
In his remark, the Chairman of the Council ,Mr Chisom Nwaiwu thanked Governor Wike for his love for the people and assured that the candidates of the PDP would each be given a hundred percent vote score by the people of Omuma.
Other highlights were the conferment of Chieftaincy title on the Wike by the council of chiefs and presentation of candidates and flag by Ambassador Desmond Akawor, the Chairman of the PDP in the state.
