The All Progressives Congress APC has condemned the statement made by Osaze Uzzi, a former Director of Voter Education of the Independent National Electoral Commission INEC that the certified copy of the server report obtained by the All Progressives Congress APC and presented to the Election Petitions Tribunal was from the initial server before the data was transmitted to the BVAS .
In a statement via social media,The Director, Public Affairs of the APC PCC,Mr Festus Keyamo queried the rationale behind INEC issuing a certified copy containing incomplete information to the APC.
Keyamo said the APC obtained the document after the election and declaration of results and wondered why INEC would issue conflicting reports pointing out that INEC views portend” a big danger to the sanctity of elections. BVAS Data are expected to be received real -time. Nigerians are not fools ” he said.
The controversy on BVAS comes a few days after the Election Petitions Tribunal for Osun State sacked the sitting governor Adenoma Adeleke and declared his predecessor, Adegboyega Oyetola as the authentic winner of the July 16 Gubernatorial election.
The APC and the former governor had claimed incidents of over voting and accreditation not captured by BVAS in 749 polling units in the state.
In a majority decision the Tribunal led by Justice Tertsea Kume nullified the election of Adeleke and declared Adegboyega Oyetola as winner on the grounds that it was not in compliance with the law
