The police command in Jigawa State has confirmed the killing of one person during a clash between members of All Progressive Congress (APC) and People Democratic Party (PDP) in Maigatari town, Maigatari Local Government Area in the state.
The Command in a statement signed by its Spokesman, DSP Lawal Shi isu Adam in Dutse, the state capital explains:
“on Friday 10th February, 2023 at about 18:20 hours while the PDP gubernatorial candidate was at Maigatari for a political campaign rally”.
“As they arrived APC secretariat clashes erupted between the supporters of the two political parties, and the Santuraki Vanguard attacked one Abdullahi Isyaku age 35 of Gangare quarters in Maigatari town”.
Shi’isu Adam said that “the victim was rushed to Gumel General Hospital and later died while recieving treatment”.
According to him, “five suspects were arrested and investigation is on going at state criminals investigation department, in command headquarter”.
