The Ijaw Youth Council IYC has frowned at what it called”unnecessary accusations and counter accusations ongoing between the National Assembly, and the NDDC IMC”
In view of that, the council has called for the immediate implementation of the Original master plan of the NDDC.
The IYC made this known during a maiden meeting of the National Executive Council on Monday in Yenegoa, Bayelsa State.
The Council through its spokesman,Ebilade Ekerefe told newsmen that the council has taken a stance on the myraids of issues beseting the Niger Delta region in recent times part of which include the problems going on between the NDDC and National Assembly members and the development of the Niger Delta as originally planned.
He said “Council has resolved to embark on a fact finding mission to the NDDC and the National Assembly to ascertain the root cause of the crisis rocking the board and the making of a far reaching recommendations after due consultation with critical stakeholders of the region.”
The council called on President Buhari as a matter of urgency appoint a substantive special Adviser on Niger Delta/coordinator for the Presidential Amnesty programme as well implementation of the other aspects of the Programme
