…As Umahi says APC ‘s Presidential Victory cannot be analysed without Wike’s contributions
Governor Nyesom Ezenwo Wike of Rivers State has said the Peoples Democratic Party PDP lost the just concluded elections following the ineptitude of the National Chairman, Dr Iyiorcha Ayu
The governor made this known at the Commissioning of the remodelled Community Secondary School Okoro Nu odo in Obio Akpor on Monday.
Wike who described Ayu as Chief Priest of Anti-Party, said what the National Chairman knew best was to suspend people for anti party activities instead of focusing on his primary assignment which is to deliver the party at all levels in the elections.
The governor questioned the morality of Ayu for sticking to his office after his humiliating defeat at his polling unit and at the ward level and wondered why he is still holding forth.
He said he and his group, The G-5 governors saw what the party would face with Ayu on the saddle which is why they called for his resignation before the election.
The Rivers governor however said he was happy that Ayu refused to resign adding that if he had quitted his office, he would have exonerated himself from the collosal failure of the party at the polls.
Wike berated opposition politicans who could not win their Polling Units and wards for lamenting and condemning the outcome of the elections affirming that his party at the state level delivered all its candidates for the National and state elections and promised that he would continue to deliver service to the people of the state until he leaves office on May 29.
In apparent reaction to the presidential election in Rivers State, Wike reiterated his earlier statement that the State is God’s own Land and that anyone who toys with it has himself to blame
In his remarks, the Special Guest of Honour and Governor of Ebonyi State, David Umahi lauded Wike for delivering quality projects to Rivers people.
While saying that Wike’s projects reflected his personality, Umahi said that the Rivers governor’s antecedents have shown that he is one who never loses election because of what he has done for the people explaining” If you have performed as a governor, the people will stand by you”.
The Ebonyi Governor who recounted the emergence of a President- elect of Southern extraction from the meeting of Southern Governors in Asaba, Delta state, disclosed that Governor Wike was falsely accused by Peter Obi, the Labour Party Presidential candidate of not supporting him ( Obi)
Umahi also urged those fighting the election of Senator Bola Tinubu as President- elect to have a rethink saying Asiwaju and Shettima’s victory is beyond the imagination of Man.
He added that there is no way the presidential victory of the ruling party will be discussed without the mention of Wike’s contributions.
Umahi however asked the incoming administration to make it a deliberate effort towards integrating all sections of the country for the purpose of peace..
