President Bola Tinubu on Thursday met with the G- 5 governors at the presidential villa, Abuja
The G-5 comprising former governors of Rivers State, Nyesom Ezenwo Wike, Samuel Ortom of Benue, Ifeanyi Ugwuanyi of Enugu, Okezie Ikpeazu of Abia and current governor of Oyo State, Seyi Makinde were also called the integrity group of the Peoples Democratic Party PDP.
The G- 5 governors aggrieved by the lack of internal party conflict resolution mechanism and quest for rotation of offices between the North and South resorted to parting ways with their party during the presidential election and pitched tent with parties fielding candidates of Southern extraction.
While Wike and Makinde threw their weight behind Senator Bola Ahmed Tinubu of the All Progressives Congress APC to win in their states, Ikpeazu and Ugwuanyi supported Peter Obi of the Labour party to win in their states and Ortom, who publicly supported Obi lost the state to Tinubu .
Also present with the G-5 Governors at the villa was Peter Mbah the current governor of Enugu State
