A 50year old man identified as Bankole Adesina lost his life while working inside a well on Abosede Awolola street in the itamaga area of Ikorodu,Lagos State.
According to reports, Adesina and his apprentice,Tajudeen Akasoro,were working together when the deceased who was said to have supported himself with a rope, entered the well to do some repairs.
It was gathered that the rope snapped while he was coming out of the well and he fell into the well and efforts to save him from drowning failed.
Residents in the area claimed they informed the police and the fire service as soon as the incident happened.
The Police Public Relations Officer in the state,Bala Elkana, said that the incident happened on July 8 and that the police detectives visited the area immediately they got a call from a resident, Patrick Adeyemi, unfortunately, the plumber died and “The corpse was recovered with the combined efforts of the state fire service and the corpse was evacuated and deposited in the Ikorodu General Hospital”s mortuary for autopsy.”
