First Lady,Oluremi Tinubu says She would give the Senior Nigerian Football Team, The Super Falcons a befitting reception when they arrive in the country.
Tinubu, said this after watching the group of 16 matches between the Super Falcons and the Lionesses of England on Monday.
The first lady in the company of the Mrs Nana Kassim Shettima, the wife of the Vice President and Mrs Unuoma Godswiill Akpabio,wife of the Senate President described the performance of the Super Falcons as superlative.
The Falcons who played a goalless draw in the first 90 minutes and 30 minutes extra time couldn’t fly in the penalty shootout as attempt made by Super Falcons forward,Desire Oparanozie and Mitchell Alozie did not go close to the goal post.
The girls who played 10-11 were unlucky to convert their chances to gold under the 120 minutes before penalty knocked. However, the hard work of the Super Falcons who are currently ranked World No 40 against World no 4 – the Lionesses and current holders of the European title are not lost on many in and outside the country who expressed optimism that their ranking will go up despite their defeat .
