The girls include 150 persons trafficked to Lebanon and the 30 girls rescued by the Nigerian Mission in Lebanon who appealed to Authorities to save them in a video last week.
A breakdown of the figure showed that 41 of the girls are from Oyo State,Ogun 21Lagos12, Ondo 18, Osun 26,Imo 3, Kwara 9,Ekiti 6, Delta 3 Enugu, Ebonyi,Kogi,Abia, Benue, Anambra,Edo and Akwa Ibom had one each.
The Media and Public Relations Unit, of Nigerians in Diaspora Commission NIDCOM, in a statement on Tuesday by Gabriel Odu, said the Lebanese Ambassador to Nigeria,Houssam Diab, had mentioned the evacuation plans with the Diaspora Commission Secretary,Dr Sule Yakubu,Bassi,who visited the Embassy in Abuja.
The statement , titled “30 stranded Nigerians rescued,150 awaiting evacuation”, said Diab gave the reassurance that the 150 ladies can be returned residence in batches, including that the primary batch of 110 will leave Beirut, Lebanon,on August 12 to Lagos, where as the second batch would return to Abuja on August 16.
The Oyo State government had announced that it would sponsor the return of some of the girls stranded in the Middle East country.
