The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested Halima Shehu, the suspended National Coordinator and CEO of the National Social Investment Programme Agency (NSIPA)
Shehu was suspended by President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday with Dr Akindee Egbuwalo as a replacement.
Her suspension followed alleged illegal transfer of N17 billion from NSIPA accounts to other accounts within a week.
It was learnt that operatives of the EFCC conducting searches at her private office and home, arrested Shehu around 9 pm on Tuesday.
The EFCC is also said to be intensifying efforts to apprehend a director at NSIPA believed to be involved in the illegal transactions.
