Governor of Rivers State,Siminalayi Fubara has reassigned 8 re-a pointed commissioners to their former portfolios.
The governor made this known during the swearing-in of Edison Ehie as his Chief of Staff( CoS )and five Special Advisers at the Executive Council Chamber of the Governor’s office in Port Harcourt, on Monday.
However, Fubara directed the Secretary to the State Government, Tammy Danagogo, to reassign only the 8 re-appointed commissioners who were present at today’s swearing-in ceremony
Among the 9 reappointed commissioners, only Emeka Woke, the former Chief of Staff under the Wike administration was absent,
Woke who was CoS for Eight years ,was appointed Commissioner for Special Duties by Fubara before the mass resignation took place during the recent political crisis. His name was re- forwarded by the governor along with his colleagues for re-screening and was re- sworn- in at the Executive Council Chambers of Government House last week.
Current Matters gathered that Woke’s absence at the swearing – in today may not be unconnected with a viral video where he was seen telling his supporters that he and other recalled commissioners did not beg to be reappointed.
His reaction was said to be in response to what an aide to the governor reportedly remarked about their wilful resignation.
In his strive for unity and impactful governance of the state, Fubara charged the re-appointed Commissioners to do things that would help develop the state and not to resume with the mindset of undermining his administration.
A Chieftain of the Peoples Democratic Party who preferred to be unnamed told current matters that Fubara and Woke were close friends before the crisis between Godfather, Nyesom Wike and Godson Fubara, which almost tore the state apart began in October last year.
