Three players of the Super Eagles of Nigeria team have made the best players list of the Confederation of African Football (CAF) according to a statement on the official Facebook page of the just concluded African Cup of Nations in Cote D’voire.
They are the most valuable players of the tournament-Troost Ekong, Defender- Ola Aina and Ademola Lookman,a winger.
According to the statement, the winners of the AFCON, the Elephants of Ivory Coast had 3 representatives while the runners up, the Super Eagles of Nigeria were represented by 3 star players. Third and fourth placed teams, the Bafana Bafana of South Africa and the Democratic Republic of Congo got 2 positions in the team each while Equatorial Guinea got one representative.
Below is the full list of best players in each of the 11 positions for AFCON 2023:
South Africa’s Ronwen Williams in between the sticks. Ola Aina, William Troost Ekong, Chancel Mbemba of DR Congo and Ghislain Konan all occupies the defensive positions.
In the midfield we have Franck Kessie and Jean Micheal Seri of Ivory Coast and also Teboho Mokoena of South Africa.
Yoane Wissa of DR Congo, Emilio Nsue of Equatorial Guinea and Ademola Lookman will lead the attack. Also, The Coach of Ivory Coast, Emerse Fae was nominated as the manager of the team.
