At least four people have been killed in a stampede during an exercise for the disbursement of alms ( zakat) to the poor in Bauchi State.
The stampede reportedly occurred at the Shafa Holdings Company plc headquarters along Jos Road, on Sunday at about 10 am.
.
It was gathered that some of those who had gathered to have their portions of the alms were injured and are receiving treatment in hospital while the timely intervention of the Police helped to bring the situation under control.
