The Delta State Police Command has confirmed that it handed over the King of Ewu,Clement Okolo to the military after he turned himself in on Thursday evening
Spokesman of the Command, Bright Edafe confirmed the development to newsmen.
King Okolo is one of the eight persons the military declared wanted in connection with the killing of 17 soldiers at Okuama in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.
Few hours after the Defence Headquarters declared he and 7 others including a woman wanted, King Okolo addressed a press conference before surrendering to the police.
At the press conference, the King cleared himself of complicity in the killing of the soldiers and said he was surprised that his name was tagged along in the list of wanted persons.
On March 14 2024, Nigerian troops led by Lt col Abdullahi Ali, on a mission to achieve truce in warring communities in Delta were gruesomely killed with their bodies dismembered.
The soldiers were buried on Wednesday, 27th March at the military cemetery in Abuja amid remarks of hunting their killers down.
A day after the corpses were lowered, the Military struck, and declared King Okolo and 7 others wanted.
