Twenty Four hours after a futile siege on the residence of the former Kogi State Governor,Yahaya Bello on Wednesday, The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has declared Bello wanted.
Bello was declared wanted for offences bordering on economic and financial Crimes while he was in office..
The commission In a post on its official social media platforms on Thursday, wrote: “Former Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello, is wanted by the EFCC for offences relating to economic and financial crimes to the tune of N80.2 bn.
“Anybody with information as to his whereabouts should report immediately to the commission or the nearest police station.”
The EFCC laid siege to the residence of Bello in Benghazi street,Wuse Zone 4, Abuja, on Wednesday in what would be described as a Rambo style to take Bello in custody.
But the timely arrival of Bello’s successor, Governor Usman Ododo saved the day as he was reported to have smuggled the embattled former governor and kinsman out of the premises.
Operatives of the anti graft agency who had gone on the mission eventually left when they saw that their aim to catch him like a common criminal was defeated.
They however warned against any further obstruction of their mission and vowed to arrest Bello even if it would involve the Military to do so.
