Two officials of the Katsina State government, the Commissioner of Information,Abdulkarim Yahaya Sirika ,and Permanent Secretary Ministry of Health, Dr Kabir Mustapha ,have stated that over 75 frontline health workers, including Doctors, Nurses and others have tested positive for coronavirus in the state.
The duo however, who briefed newsmen about the development, said that majority of the cases are asymptomatic pointing out that the infected workers are currently receiving treatment with observation in line with clinical practices.
According to them,two
mortalities were recorded, including a doctor and a lab attendant who reported his case late Thursday.
The government officials disclosed that the state has spent over N157,750,000,00 on a total of 11314 samples collected with 675 repeats and follow- ups cases.
At the moment, there are 54,743 confirmed cases of coronavirus in Nigeria,42,816, account for recovered cases while fatalities had 1,051 .
Lagos has the highest number of 18,255 confirmed cases with 15,233 recoveries and 202 deaths. The FCT is second on the table with 5,273 confirmed cases,1591 recoveries and 63 deaths while Edo has 100 fatalities next to Lagos, with 2594 confirmed cases in the state and 2361 recoveries..
