Elder Statesman and Leader of the Ijaw nation, Chief Edwin Clark, has asked the Inspector General of Police, IGP Kayode Egbetokun, to arrest the Minister of the FCT, Nyesom Wike, over his comment threatening to set fire to states governed by governors of the Peoples Democratic PDP
Wike, a former Governor of Rivers State had while speaking at the PDP secretariat in Port Harcourt, last Saturday during the party’s state congress, warned the PDP governors not to interfere in the party’s affairs in his state.
But Clark in a press conference on Thursday, said the comments of the FCT Minister were not only incisive and treasonable but disrespectful to the person of President Bola Tinubu, who appointed him”.
The elder statesman therefore called on the IGP to arrest Wike just as he did to protesters under the hashtag#EndBadGovernance
Clark’s statement came a few days after the PDP Governors Forum cautioned Wike.
The governors who restated their irrevocable support for Rivers Governor , Siminilayi Fubara as leader of the party, said they would work with the National Working Committee of the party to ensure that the governors privileges are not infringed on .
