The federal government through the Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs and Poverty Alleviation, has expressed readiness to partner credible organisations in the delivery of empowerment programmes in the country.
The Permanent Secretary in the Ministry, Mr Abel Olumuyiwa Enitan, gave this indication on Thursday when a delegation from Royal Ambassadors Family Enlightenment Foundation, RAFEF, led by Deputy Director General, HRM, Amb. Queen Zion Torkwase Kilgore, paid him a courtesy visit in Abuja.
The Permanent Secretary noted that the federal government under President Bola Tinubu is ready and willing to collaborate with organisations like RAFEF to deliver the much needed empowerment schemes for the overall benefit of the people especially Youths and Women.
Earlier in a speech, HRM, Queen Zion Kilgore, who represented the Director General, RAFEF, Amb. Jonathan David Okwudiri, said the foundation will always support President Bola Tinubu’s good intentions and vision towards the progressiveness and advancement of the country where the Women and Youth will reach out to their full potential.
“We believe that together, we can make a significant impact in the lives of women and youths in Nigeria, and we look forward to a fruitful partnership and sponsorship”, she added.
According to her, “the Royal Ambassadors Family Enlightenment Foundation ( RAFEF) is a vibrant organization comprising women and youths from the 774 LGA’s across the 36 States in Nigeria with over 70,000 Membership strength”.
“In the last eight months, our achievements in this organization include:- Empowering over 50 individuals through business registration and startup funding, with the inclusion of the Persons with Disability; Awarding Education scholarships to students in the Secondary School;
Providing gifts of items to over 200 female students in the Secondary School; Supporting 25 youths through our Talent Scholarship Scheme and Training; Acquiring over 20,000 plots of land in the following States:- Abia , Anambra, Enugu, Imo, Nasarawa and Plateau for Sustainable Agricultural Farming and Food Security in Nigeria.
HRM Queen Zion Kilgore stated that in view of the numerous programs and activities facing the organization between now and December 2024, RAFEF therefore requested partnership and sponsorship from the Federal Ministry of Humanitarian Affairs to execute its programmes.
She also sought assistance for Financial Grants and support for Humanitarian Response to vulnerable groups among the women and youth in the organization.
“We believe that together, we can make a significant impact in the lives of women and youths in Nigeria”, HRM, Queen Zion Kilgore concluded.
The Permanent Secretary, Mr Abel Enitan, who received the delegation in the company of Director, Special Needs of the Ministry, Mrs Agnes Aneke, promised to study the proposal for a workable programme.
