Operatives of the Kaduna State Command of the National Drug Law Enforcement Agency (NDLEA) have iseized a total of 1,045.93 kg of various illicit substances and arrested 420 suspects

He explained that the arrests included 404 males and 16 females, comprising drug dealers, users, and traffickers.
Danmalam said the seized substances included cocaine, cannabis sativa, rohypnol, tramadol, methamphetamine, and other psychotropic drugs, all contributing to the total weight of 1,045.93 kg. In addition, the command confiscated 1,393 rounds of 7.62mm ammunition and four locally made firearms during various operations within the period under review.
He also revealed that the NDLEA secured the conviction of 30 drug offenders and charged a total of 54 suspects, while investigations into other cases are ongoing.
The commander stated that the command in its efforts to combat drug abuse, implemented non-kinetic strategies, including awareness and sensitization programs adding that 50 drug users received counseling while 50 others dependent on drugs were rehabilitated and successfully reintegrated into society.
Danmalam reiterated the agency’s commitment to fighting illicit drug trafficking and urged the public to provide timely and useful information to facilitate quick responses and proactive measures.
