Justice Maryam Anenih of the Abuja High Court has granted former governor of Kogi State,Yahaya Bello bail, eight days after she denied him bail saying the bail application was filed prematurely.
In her ruling on Thursday, Justice Anenih acknowledged that the offence the 1st Defendant was charged with was a bailable one and granted Bello bail in the sum of N500million with three sureties
The sureties must be notable Nigeriarns with landed properties in Maitaima,Jabi,Utako,Apo,Guzape,Garki and Asokoro.
Bello was also ordered to deposit his international passport and other travel documents with the court. The court also ordered that he is to remain at Kuje Correctional Centre until the bail conditions are met.
The former governor is facing trial bordering on alleged money laundering to the tune of N110bn along with two others in a 16- count charge brought against him by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission,EFCC.
