The Police Command in Abia State has confirmed the death of a 32.- year – old man , Andrew Chukwuma Nwosu, a native of Itaja Obuohia Olokoro in Umuahia South Local Government Area, who reportedly parked his vehicle by the roadside on the morning of Thursday, April 17, 2025, before allegedly using his belt to hang himself in a nearby fence.
Confirming the incident, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) of the Abia State Police Command, DSP Maureen Chinaka, said: “ the incident happened.
She said,”One Andrew Chukwuka Nwosu from Itaja Obuohia Olokoro in Umuahia South LGA was found hanging on a fence along Olokoro-Umudike Road.”
According to her, detectives from Ubakala Division promptly visited the scene, and the body has since been deposited at Madonna Mortuary for preservation and autopsy. “There was no sign of violence on the body. Photographs were taken at the scene, and a preliminary investigation is ongoing,” DSP Chinaka added. The motive behind the suspected suicide remains unknown as investigations continue” Chinaka added..
