The United States General Service Administrator Emily Murphy has said that the transition process of the team of the President-elect and the Trump government can now begin.
The development is coming after weeks of delay.
The General Service Administration had said it would brief Key House and Senate Committee leaders and Staff on November 30 on why the GSA Administrator, Murphy refused to release funding and resources for President-elect,Joe Biden’s transition, but Democrats kicked against it saying they want the briefing Tuesday.
In a letter to Murphy on Monday, the officials said”We cannot wait yet another week to obtain basic information about your refusal to make the ascertainment determination.
Murphy,a President Trump appointee had stalled the transition process and refused to recognise the winner of the November 3 elections over Trump’s unfounded claims of electoral fraud.
By the development, the Biden’s team can now begin to ascess vital information on the coronavirus, security and other critical sectors that would guide its administration.
Earlier Monday, the Michigan State Board of Canvassers voted to certify the election results in favour of Biden, thus closing any path way that could lead to the overturn of the decision of the electorate by Trump.
Attempts by Trump’s lawyers to challenge the election results in Pennsylvania suffered a setback as the Supreme Courtt dismissed the suit.
The game appears to be over for Trump and he is expected to do the needful, which is formerly acknowledging Joe Biden as the President-elect.
