Police shut down Cubana Nightclub,arrest 172 persons
Lagos Police Commissioner, Hakeem Odumosu has said that the Command had shut down Cubana Nightclub, Victoria Island and arrested 172 people for breaching COVID-19 protocols.
Odumosu who made this known to newsmen during the parade of the Covid-19 violator’s on Monday, at the Police Command, Ikeja,Lagos State said “they were arrested at the early hours of Saturday, at the Cubana Nightclub for breaching the social distancing rule and there is a viral video to that effect in circulation .”
According to him,” they have been arrested for violating the law of the state and the law will take it’s course adding they will be charged to court “.
Odumosu wondered why people would engage in clubbing when such activities had been totally banned.
He however ,said that” once the club gets approval of the safety commission and ensure that social distancing and face mask wearing is adhered to, they will have no problem with the law “
The CP noted that anytime there was a raid on clubs, the owners of the clubs would dissappear leaving the staff and clubbers to their own fate adding” now that the owner of Cubana will surely surface because we have shut down his club and arrested some of his staff as well”
