No fewer than 10 persons died in an accident on Saturday in Azare, Katagun Local Government Area of Bauchi.
The Sector Commander of the Federal Road Safety Corps ( FRSC), Bauchi,Mr Yusuf Abdullahi who disclosed this to newsmen in an interview in Bauchi said the incident which occurred about 2.p.m alo left 12 others with serious injuries.
Abdullahi said the accident occurred when a motorcycle conveying aww four passengers rammed into an incoming Toyota Hiace hummer bus, belonging to Gombe line express.
He said all the passengers on the motorcycle and 6 passengers in the bus lost their lives adding that their corpses had been taken to Federal Medical Centre (FMC) Azare.
According to him, the 12 who were injured and receiving treatment at New Jama’are clinic in Azare comprises six male adults,three female
adults,one male child and three female childrren.
The Sector Commander attributed the cause of the accident to overspending and urged all commercial fleet operators to install Speed Limiting Device in their vehicles to curtail their excesses.
