Vice President, Yemi Osinbajo says the task of building a society desired by all is vigorous and required the contribution of all.
In view of this, Osinbajo urged Nigerians to build, not to destroy,to add to,not to take away.
Spokesman of the Vice President,Laolu Akande in a statement in Abuja, said the vice president virtually made the call at the opening session of an International Conference on Patriotism, Security, Governance and National Development
The event was organised by the Global Patriot Newspaper in collaboration with the Nigerian Consulate in New York and Nigeria in Diaspora Organisation,New Jersey chapter.
According to the vice president, the task of nation building is exerting in a multi- ethnic,multi- religious nation like Nigeria as it challenges values, patience and tolerance
Osinbajo spoke on state policing saying decentralisation of the police force is the way to go.
On the Herders/ Farmers clashes, Osinbajo said the Federal and state governments are committed to the National Livestock Transformation Plan developed under the auspices of the National Economic Council (NEC)
The NLTP is a strategic plan to address frequent conflicts of the Herders and Farmers and encourages interested states to establish cattle ranches .
The vice president said” no community or state is compelled in any shape or form to give land for ranching Ranching is essentially a business”. He said.
