Governor Nyesom Wike has asked the Minister of Niger Delta Affairs Senator Godswill Akpabio to be careful of what he says about governors of the South South saying he should be mindful of what he says about Rivers State as doing so would have detrimental consequences on him.
Wike who was speaking during the commissioning of the Trade Union Congress TUC building constructed by his administration on Friday in Port Harcourt said Akpabio had the effrontery to denigrate the South South governors on the monthly derivation knowing full well that at the time he ( Akpabio) was a governor, the exchange rate was different and as the naira to the dollar then was far lower than now that it exchanged for about N500.
The governor who took a swipe at the Minister’s utterance against the South South governors at Thursday’s commissioning of the NIger Delta Development Commission NDDC headquarters in Port Harcourt, said people should say what they practice as he would be compelled to releasing a video to the public ,where Akpabio said the president should learn from he ( Wike what he is doing in Rivers State.
” People should say what they practice. I will show a video where Akpabio said the president should come and learn from me what Iam doing here. I will show a video soon.
” People forget, you just come out, you talk anyhow.you challenge governor and you went and started sponsoring so called militants that we should render account of N55 trillion.. Where did you get the N55 trillion from? If we got N55 trillion, then( he) Akpabio got N200 trillion.So you cannot insult people. You go and commission a project, you cannot ask the governors whether it is suitable for them.And then you begin to criticise them that they boycotted, boycott what?
,” You promised me that you were going to patner with me in the dualisstion of the Eastern bypass, you ran away.Now we have done it and here you are enjoying it.Akpabio be careful.! Akpabio be careful!. AKPABIO BE CAREFUL!
So don’t begin to go and pay money to people to carry propaganda against governors, you will suffer for it at the end of the day,you will.
” We knew when Akpabio was governor what he was doing, Infact he saw himself as God then.Now he has the temerity to insult South South governors.We will meet one day.
“We will meet one day, if you did well why did you fail Senate election? Ordinary Senate., and you will come and talk to us. No worry,time will come.
Wike recalled the time Akpabio wooed the support of the South South governor on Interim administration of the Niger Delta Development Commission NDDC and said after they had done the bid he had thel boldness to insult them adding that he would abuse Akpabio at the appropriate time as today was only for introduction of what would come.
“When you were lobbying governors to come and talk on your behalf you didn’t know how they were fighting you. How we should not allow people to say Oh you should not bring the Interim administration. Now you are abusing us.
,,,” I will abuse you back at the appropriate time. Iam only making introduction today. Today is just for introduction of what I will do.So be prepared. Now you have come to look for trouble. I will give you trouble.” He said.
