A Medical Doctor turned businesswoman, Onyiye Obi added another year which she celebrated with friends and family on Saturday evening.
The venue was the Indigo restaurant, Maitama.Abuja.
Speaking at the occasion, her friend and classmate and wife of the Honourable Minister of Transportation,,Dame Judith Amaechi described the celebrant as a dependable ally, a brilliant woman with a heart of Gold.
Amaechi said Obi’s advice and passion for the work of God and sense of philanthropy for the poor were examplary and worthy of emulation .and wished her God’s blessing.
The celebrant,Obi said she decided to celebrate the day as a way of showing gratitude to God for his goodness and faithfulness in her life
She said “the past year 2020 had been a very blessed year and even 2021, So for us to be alive,we need to give glory to God,So Iam celebrating life “she said.
Obi told current matters that she had no low moments because of her strong believe that nothing is impossible with God on her side.
On what makes her happy,Obi said everything in life makes her happy.
” I don’t want to be sad,I will not accept unhappiness,Iam happy. I just want to believe life is good.God is good.
” Since I turned 50, people have been asking me ,Onyiye where are you going to? Onyiye there is something new happening in your life. Nothing, I just decided that I will never be unhappy,I will never be sad,all the way till I go to the grave. Happiness all the way. Iam celebrating.
Obi was born to late Chief &, Pharmacist Rufus and Octogenarian mother, Mrs Christiana Isiaku Obi of Isiukwato,in Abia State.
She is blessed with 3 children , two female graduates and a. 6 year old boy
The businesswoman described the life of her children as a reward to her from God.adding” they are for signs and wonders and they are mighty in the land.”.
On what she thinks going forward? She said” It is forward ever,backward never,I will forever be above, never under. I will ever be the head and never the tail. Great things will begin to happen. Watch out she concluded”
She thanked all those who turned out to celebrate her for their kind gesture and prayed that God will honour them.
Giving her remarks, the immediate elder sister of the celebrant, Barrister Ezinwa Okoroafor ESq, described her younger sister as kind hearted and unasuming .
Dignitaries at the event include Engineer Biokpo Awara,a former governorship candidate of Rivers State, Hon Barrister Nkechi Chukwueke Special Adviser to the President,Hon. Ikwo Inyang, Former Member of the House of Representatives, Hon. R.S Danna ( Baby) former Commissioner for Environment, Bauchi state and Wife of Late Kogi Senator , Hajia Sabihat Bello,
