A man said to be Chairman of a community in Andoni Local Government Area of Rivers State has died while dancing to the rhythm of a traditional music at a yet to be identified function.
In a viral video on Tuesday, the deceased Chairman was seen dancing vigorously to the traditional beat with the crowd cheering him on, saying” Andoni no dey carry last”( Andoni’s are exceptional in dance).” “The challenge is over.” suggesting he was dancing in a contest among others.
The community leader slumped and made frantic effort to get up but the Master of Ceremony and the spectators who appeared only interested in the drama of the dance thought the fall of the dancer was part of the dance with some at the background saying” it is stage managed “asking those who helped him out of the venue not to bother , while others thought he might have drank alcohol to stupor.
He was rushed to the hospital where he was confirmed dead.
