
The Anambra State Government has imposed a curfew on Omor and Anaku communities in Ayamelum Local Government Area of the state.
The curfew is to last from 7 pm to 6am daily, till further notice.
Secretary to the State Government, Prof Solo Chukwulobelu said in this in a statement on Monday in Awka.
Chukwulobelu said, the curfew commences Monday, May 17, and directed residents living in the two communities to obey the order as security personnel are on strict orders to enforce the curfew directives.
Accordiing to him, the government has lifted the curfew imposed on Igbariam, Aguleri, Umueri, Nteje, Awkuzu and Umunya communities, following the return of normalcy in the areas.
He noted that the lifting of the curfew which began on Monday, April 26, is with immediate effect.
