As the minister of Transportation,Rt Hon. Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi turned 56 on Thursday,May 27 ,his family, friends and colleagues assembled at his Abuja home to thank God for adding another year to his age.
In his homily, the officiating priest Rev Father, Michael Bamijo of Catholic Secretariat, Abuja, described Amaechi as a political transformer who not only believed in changing the situation of fellow human beings for a better life but put his trust in God.
The Clergy urged the Minister not to relent in providing transformational leadership while enjoining members of his family and friends to continually seek the face of God and place their trust in him .
Delivering his vote of thanks, Amaechi thanked his wife,Dame Judith Amaechi and friends for the special show of love on his birthday.
Amaechi asked his followers who were in their numbers to go back to his period of exile before the divine justice which brought him in as governor of Rivers State.
According to the minister,there is reward in waiting on the lord and trusting in him adding that that was a sure way of attracting God’s direction and victory over challenges..
The Mass was attended by the Permanent Secretary, Ministry of Transportation,Dr Magdalene Ajani, Political associates, Captains of Industry, Religious leaders and members of the Entertainment Industry ( Nollywood)..
Amaechi was the immediate past Governor of Rivers State, He served a successful two term in office and was before his swearing in as governor in October 25, 2007 in a landmark judgement by the Supreme Court, a two term Speaker of the Rivers State House of Assembly.

He was also a personal assistant a Student Union leader.
As governor, Amaechi executed several transformational projects which included construction and commissioning of Model Secondary schools generally described as state of the art schools . He constructed hospitals across the 23 local government areas, and mega roads and flyovers which continue to bear testimony to his administration.
Women, Youths and Children regardless of abilities, formed an integral part of his administration as several training programmes aimed to provide them with opportunities to reach their potentials were offered.
Amaechi whose birthday falls on Children’s Day, see education of children as the most important gift anyone could give them which explained why his administration took the bold initiative to sponsor brilliant but indigent students to acquire knowledge abroad.
Amaechi ‘s determination to succeed where others feared to tread,is visibly seen in his current assignment as Miniister of Transportation.
It is evidence that the trains are working, Abuja- Kaduna Railway is working, Warri- Itakpe is working,Lagos- Ibadan is also working.
Similarly, sooner, construction of the rail line linking Kano-Maradi and that of the Eastern Rail to Maiduguri with extension to the Bonny Deep seaport would commence
With the transformation of the transportation sector ongoing which signposts the achievements of the President Buhari administration, It is only a while that even critics of the administration would thank God for the steps taken to turn the country around.
Amaechi’s birthday is being celebrated in every ward of the 23 local government areas of Rivers State in appreciation of the volume of life bearing projects spanning through various aspects of human development.
His show of kindness is unparalleled, his stubbornness to issues designed to pauperise or subdue his people to disadvantaged state unequal and motivational.
