The Imo state Police Command says prominent polician,Ahmed Gulak was shot dead on Wednesday morning on his way to the Sam Mbakwe International Airport, Owerri.
According to the Command’s spokesman,Bala Elkana, Gulak left his protea hotel in a Toyota Camry cab with two others when the car was intercepted by six gunmen in a Toyota Sienna who identified and killed him.
Elkana said the deceased did not inform the police or any other security agencies of his movement given the volatile security situation in the state.
He said that the Commissioner of Police,Abutu Yaro has ordered discreet Investigation into the killing while the scene of the crime had been cordoned off with directive to arrest the perpetrators of the heinous crime.
Gulak was an aide to former President,Goodluck Jonathan.
